	Thank you for your letter  expressing interest in Vicarm.  I  actually
talked with you for a while during  the first day of the Mini/Micro  show.
I had asked you  about using your cassette  for loading our arm  programs.
Our discussion centered on whether 2400  baud data transfer rate could  be
maintained throughout loading of an  entire cassette (40,000 words).   The
question was  unresolved, and  we  are still  interested in  a  definitive
answer...and price, if a special is required.

	I too am an M.I.T. graduate, as I mentioned to you... Class of 1963 in
Aero and  Astro.   I  did  my graduate  work  at  Stanford  University  in
Mechanical Engineering  and most recently I have been working with  their
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory  (part of the  Computer Science  Dept.).
Vicarm manipulator systems are an outgrowth  of this work at Stanford  and
at M.I.T. (I returned  to M.I.T. in  1972 as a  visiting staff member,  to
design an arm for them, now our model M.I.T. arm).

	Vicarm is small- 2 employees plus several consultants.  We design  and
build all  our  systems  in house.   We  have  a small  machine  shop,  an
electronics development and test  facility, and some software  development
equipment.   I  also  reley  heavily  on  my  connections  with   Stanford
University, and in  fact am  currently a PhD  candidate in  the a  special
studies area  of  Automation.

	Recently,  I  have been  discussing  merger
possibilities with a few larger firms.  I am interested in joining with  a
larger, more  established firm  which would  have an  existing  marketing,
sales and service organization.  This  appears to be what an  organization
such as mine needs at the moment, as our primary objective is to market an
industrial rated robot assembly system.  I also have interests in the area
of a low cost, mass produced robot system for hobbyists (the household
robot), universities, and
less critical automation tasks. At the current time our market seems to be
automation  research  and  development   groups  at  large   corporations,
government agencies, universities, and research labs.

	I will be out  of town at  another show until November  1.  I will  be
happy to  meet  with  you anytime  later  that  week,  to  discuss  future
possibilities. A meeting at Micon would be fine.\.
